How to Find the Perfect Wedding Date
December 15th, 2021
Setting a date is one of the most important parts of the wedding planning process. Considering there are about 365 or so days to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming to pick the perfect one. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to decide. Not all days are created equal, at least in regard to this most special of occasions. Below are a few things to keep in mind from our knowledgable team while you plan your dream wedding.
No Matter the Weather, Rain or Shine
A huge factor in the success of one’s wedding is the weather. Rainstorms can ruin some weddings with mud and lightning. High temperatures can cause heat stroke in visitors and participants alike. Snow and ice can create accidents or make some ceremonies impossible.
While it is unlikely the planner will know the weather months and even years in advance, they do know the season and location of the wedding. If they are planning to hold the ceremony in some of the colder regions of the Midwest, it is probably best to plan the date for late spring, summer, or early autumn.
Holidaze or Wedding Days
There is a holiday every single day. Whether it is Valentine’s Day or National Donut Day, there is always an ongoing celebration. It is up to the wedding planner to choose whether that holiday is appropriate for the wedding.
For example, take Thanksgiving. A guest might have to give up Thanksgiving with their families to go to a wedding, which they may not appreciate. On Christmas, people might be distracted by gift-giving or planning vacations. The more the guests focus on the wedding, the better it will be for the couple who want to celebrate their love.
Be Practical
People are getting married all the time. As a result, many excited couples are booking event spaces, places of worship, and caterers on a regular basis. This means that some months are more in demand and consequently more expensive. Some weekdays are more difficult to book as well, especially Saturdays.
When picking a date, it is wise to consider whether or not that date is in demand. If the day is near a holiday or in a fashionable month, picking a different day is budget-friendly and easy. Planning a wedding is expensive and stressful, so a less common day can allow the couple to focus more on the romance than the checkbook.
Do Not Put Friendship to the Test
The most important people in the couple’s life will be attending. They often have lives separate from those getting married and have obligations of their own. If someone is especially important, such as the mother, father, or maid of honor, it is vital to make sure that they can attend. Talk to them first before setting the date.
